MS:
Experimental Contemporary Photography (PH_645, Graduate Level)
This course concentrates in experimental photographic and darkroom
work, encouraging the student to see new ways and realize his or
her vision through non-traditional means. Mixed media, liquid emulsion,
large scale printing, collage and montage will be explored among
other technical strategies for broadening the student's overview
of photographic possibilities.

MS:
Experimental Historic Processes (PH_640, Graduate Level)
This course teaches 19th century (or alternate) processes such as
cyanotype, Van Dan Dyke and gum printing. Other specific processes
will taught according to relevance and student interests. Students
will be introduced to the techniques, supported in mastering them
and encouraged to use them experimentally while applying them meaningfully
in relation to their own work

MS: History of Photography (PH_625, Graduate Level)
This course will consider the impact of photography on the visual arts. The major movements within photography's history will be defined and explored, as will prime representatives of these philosophies. Students will be asked to photograph in relation to the context provided by the history of photography.

MS: Pinhole & Plastic Cameras (PH_699, Graduate Level)
This course concentrates on experimentation and exploration of personal expression through the use of pinhole and plastic cameras. Students will be introduced to many different camera types and artists working within this genre of photography.

MS: Self As Subject (PH-699, Graduate Level)
This course concentrates on the exploration of self through the use of photography as a creative medium. Students will be introduced to many artists working within the genre of self-portraiture and will be encouraged to challenge themselves and take risks with the work created in this class. The final project will be a cohesive body of work unique to each student’s vision.
